The reporter encountered the woman in South Pyongan Province (0:08-0:58). She was emaciated and gathering grass to feed rabbits, a common requirement for households in that region. She revealed that she had lost both her parents and her home, forcing her to live on the streets.

The latter part of the video (1:39-2:54) discusses rising public dissatisfaction and rumors of civil unrest, including instances of graffiti targeting local party officials, which escalated following the 2009 currency redenomination policy.

According to the reporter, the woman was later found dead in a cornfield around October 20, 2010. It is believed she died while searching for food during the harvest season.

The 2009 currency reform is identified as a primary cause for the economic turmoil that destroyed livelihoods, leading to an increase in homelessness and starvation across the country.
